Dorothy Congrove's Obituary
Dorothy Congrove, 93, of Alliance, died on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 11:45 a.m. at her home. Born on November 12, 1918 in Pipecreek, Ohio, she lived in Alliance since 1940. She was a graduate of David Anderson High School in Lisbon and was a self employed beautician. Mrs. Congrove was a member of Alliance Area Senior Citizens Center and the 60 Club at Alliance Friends Church. In her past-time, she enjoyed traveling, knitting and making crafts. Survivors include her two daughters, Georgia Fluharty of Wintersville, OH and Mary Wervey of Beloit; a son, Robert L. "Bud" Congrove, Jr. of Alliance, OH; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert "Leroy" Congrove, Sr. on March 22, 2011, whom she married on August 20, 1939; her parents, James and Margaret (Channel) Brown; three sisters, Georgia Chamberlain, Virginia Brown and Grace Rome; and a brother, Melvin Brown. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery.
