Doris E. Pipus' Obituary
Doris E. Pipus, 79, of Alliance, died on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at 4:15 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on March 2, 1933 in Alliance, she lived in Alliance all of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School, she was a 1951 graduate of Alliance High School. Doris had been an Adult Literacy Teacher at Rodman Public Library and served as a Poll Worker for the Stark County Board of Elections for over 40 years. In her past-time, she enjoyed taking care of her dog and cats, both indoors and out. Doris appreciated the friends she had and the special times she spent with them. Her family is especially thankful to her caregivers, Roberta Whitney and Lucille Eberling. Survivors include a sister, Antoinette Babington of Clarion, PA; several nieces & nephews; and several great-nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Carl Pipus on February 22, 2011, whom she married on February 27, 1960; her parents, August and Esther (Felice) Quattrocchi; a sister, Marie Purenciu; and a brother, Anthony Quattrocchi. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from 1:00 -2:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew M. Mankowski as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
