Doris Gertrude Huffman's Obituary
Doris Gertrude Huffman, 85, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at 8:38 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in McGaheysville, Virginia, on June 22, 1917, she had been a resident of Alliance most of her life. An Alliance High School graduate, she was a member of the Vine Street United Methodist Church, the Crusaders Class and the Rayann Circle of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Huffman was an inspector at the former Sherwood Mfg. and a timekeeper at the former B & W Rush Street Plant. Survivors include two sisters, Phyllis Smith of Stow and Cathelyne Zwick of North Benton; two brothers, Robert Huffman and Julian Huffman, both of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard R. and Gertrude E. (Meadow) Huffman and a brother, Aubrey L. Bud Huffman. The family will receive friends at the Vine Street United Methodist Church on Friday, May 30, 2003, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1 :00 p.m. with the Rev. David Sigman and the Rev. Julian Huffman co-officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Township Cemetery in North Benton. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
