I always admired how motivated Don was to work on projects around the house over the years. He was an extremely hard worker. To mention a few of the projects he accomplished, he remodeled his kitchen with new kitchen cupboards and new tile flooring. He added a sun room onto the back of his house and then created a fish pond in the back yard that included a waterfall at one end and flowers around it. He built a chicken coop so he could enjoy raising and taking care of chickens. Don and Jan would end up with more eggs than they could eat, so the extra eggs were given to family and neighbors. I smiled when Don surprised us with pickled eggs he made for dinner on Easter. Every year, Don planted a vegetable garden with mostly tomatoes and peppers. It yielded enough tomatoes for Jan to can for use in making homemade spaghetti sauce. When he wasn’t doing projects of his own, Don also helped his daughter and son with their projects and went to his kids and grandkids sporting games over the years. Don even planted tomatoes this year and replaced the flooring in the sun room.
I don’t know how you found the energy and the knowledge to do as much as you did, Don. You really had a full and impressive family life. You are loved deeply and will be missed forever. ❤️😢
Well this true story started back in 70’s when a guy from near Homeworth fell in love with my best friend, Jan. He had a fun sense of humor and a feistiness to him that I enjoyed. He was a hardworking and loved his family. A bunch of us got together and took a trip to the PA barracks to pick up Don and then went onto Ocean City, no reservations, and really no plans at all but fun! Well we got him back to the barracks that time. But when just the girls went one time so Jan could catch an eye on her guy we got lost in PA in the middle of the night. Wondering how we kept missing the turnpike not realizing you actually needed to find an intersection with an entrance to the turnpike to get on it! (We had paper maps back then) Well we made it home finally but what an adventure!! Great memories are what we have to hold onto now.
Cuddle those grandkids Jan. May the Lord Jesus give you strength and comfort for this part of the journey.

In the late 90s while both of our families still had young kids, the Coen family and the Tarolli family went to Cedar Point together for the day. Neither Don or I had ridden the Magnum roller coaster, so we looked at each other and said, "Let's go for it". It was smooth sailing during the entire ride until we hit the back stretch. This section begins with a whopping 195 foot drop accelerating the coaster to a maximum lightning speed of 72 MPH on a straight away back stretch having a series of small crescent hills and valleys slamming us into the safety bar on every hill and back into the seat on every dip into the next valley. Every time we got slammed, Don would blurt out "AHHHhhh!" when suddenly on one of the hills he hollers out "MY CIGARETTES !!!!". The cigarette pack had launched from his shirt pocket and floated perfectly in mid-air in front of both us. Don swiped for them as fast as he could but later retrieved them on the floor at the end of the ride. I laughed about that day for a long time and told the story several times as well. Don always had a good natured way about him that made friends and family laugh. Rest in peace Don. We all love you!

Many, many times we went fishing for bluegill down at “the bridge”, and once Donny put his hand down the “hole” and a snapping turtle bit it. I thought that pretty funny, but he wasn’t amused lol We spent so much time together as kids, from grade school through high school- in and out of trouble, “corning” cars, gigging frogs. I’ll always cherish those times, and am so sad that he has passed. I will always remember him, and will always love him. God bless, cousin
