Donald D. "Red" Tanner's Obituary
Donald D. "Red" Tanner, 70, of Atwater, Ohio, formerly of the Greensboro, Pa. area, died Monday, April 27, 2009. Born May 29, 1938, he was formerly employed as a machinist with Rubber City Machine in Akron. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Wagner Tanner; five children, Tammy Tanner of Cincinnati, Tracy Ferber of North Royalton, Donald Tanner, Jr. of Kettering, Mark Tanner of Akron, and Dusty D. Tanner of Waverly, Illinois; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Custer Tanner of Rome, Ohio and Vernon Tanner of Greensboro, Pa; and a sister, Linda Yancheck of Surprise, Arizona. Preceding in death were his parents, Allen and Louise McGowan Tanner; a sister, Regina Wargo; and a brother, Edwin Tanner. The family will receive friends at the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, 501 Morgantown St., Point Marion, PA 15474 on Friday, May 1, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. hour of service. Interment follows in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, PA. Local arrangements by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
