Donald Lee Spano's Obituary
Donald Lee Spano, 69, of Alliance, died on Friday, February 15, 2013, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. He was born on February 1, 1944 in Jerome, AZ., and resided in Alliance most of his life. He was a 1964 graduate of Alliance High School. He worked as a fitter at the Alliance Machine Company for over 30 years. Donald was as an avid fan of music, especially classical music and opera. He had a wide range of interests and was knowledgeable about a great many subjects. Donnie loved to make people laugh and will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. During the past seven years, he enjoyed being part of "The Turtle Clan," a group that meets regularly at Arby s. Survivors include his sister, Teresa (John) Bradley of Geneva, IL; two nieces, Catherine and Nora, a nephew, Robert; and his best friend, Dr. George Thomas, whose loyalty and kindness toward him were unwavering. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Mary (Sedinger) Spano. A gathering of friends will take place in the Carnation Room at the Comfort Inn on Wednesday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
