Donald "Puddy" Sacco's Obituary
Donald "Puddy" Sacco, 53, of Minerva, died on Thursday, November 26, 2009, at 4:33 pm, at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on February 14, 1956 in Alliance and lived here all of his life. Puddy was a 1974 graduate of Alliance High School and graduated in 1979 from Akron University with a degree in Business Administration. Mr. Sacco was co-owner of Broadway Iron and Metal with his brother, Jerry. He was a member of the Christopher Columbus Society, the Dante Alighieri Society, and the Salem Italian-American Club. In his past-time, he loved hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling with his sons. His first love was time spent with his sons and he actively participated in coaching and sponsoring their sport teams. He enjoyed having fun and was very passionate about his business. Puddy was a semi-pro football player with the Tri-City Titans. He is survived by his wife, Dawn M. (Baier) Sacco, whom he married on May 3, 1986; two sons, George and Tony Sacco, both of the home; a brother, Jerry (Judy) Sacco of Alliance; two nephews, Dominic and Craig; life-long friend, Daryl "Jughead" Walizer; and a host of extended family and friends. Preceding him in death was his parents, George P. and Maxine L. (Milner) Sacco. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
