Donald "Donny" Kommel, Jr.'s Obituary
Donald "Donny" Kommel, 55, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 10:56 p.m., at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on August 22, 1954 in Alliance, and lived here all of his life. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he received his education at St. Joseph Catholic School and Alliance High School. Anyone who came to any AHS athletic events, Top Gun Wrestling Tournaments, attended any Hot Stove League games, or anything involving Carnation Days in the Park or the Rib Burn off or the Haunted House, would recognize Donny as he and his sister Dolly were the ones working hard at all these events. He is survived by a sister, Adele "Dolly" Kommel of Alliance; and several aunts, uncles and several cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, Donald and Mary (Retone) Kommel; and god-parents, Frank and Julia Retone. Memorial services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
