Donald E. Green's Obituary
Donald E. Green, 72, of Sebring, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm at his home. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Parkersburg, West Virginia and lived in the Sebring area for most of his life. He was a 1959 graduate of Barlow Local High School in Vincent, OH. Donald had been a semi-truck driver for Kulka Steel in Alliance for 26 years, and then retired as a semi-truck driver from Genie Overhead Door Co. after 19 years of service. Following his retirement, Don was currently employed at Lavery Auto Group as a driver for their car exchange and for the Service Department. Mr. Green served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion, Post 76 in Sebring. Donald is survived by his wife, Beverly A. (Ward) Green, whom he married on July 1, 1989; his son - Donald (Debbie) Green II of Sebring, OH; sister - Patricia Beebe of Marietta, OH; brother - Gary (Kim) Green of Branson, MO; sister-in-law - Dana Biggar of Alliance, OH; 3 granddaughters - Destinee A. Green, Ashli (Andrew) Pollock, Allison (Randy) Burrows; grandson - Camden D. Green; great-granddaughter - Gabrielle E. Pollock; great-grandson - Jamey T. Pollock; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Marlee". He was preceded in death by his parents; Thurman E. and Emily D. (Carpenter) Green; son, James E. Green, step-son, Christopher Drake, brother, Charles Green, and brother-in-law, Dana Beebe. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Service with military honors will begin at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Steve Lowe, officiating.
