Donald L. Flitcraft's Obituary
Donald L. Flitcraft, 72, of Alliance, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at 4: 18 p.m. at Salem Community Hospital. Born in Alliance on November 29, 1929, he had been a resident of Alliance all of his life and was a member of the Alliance Church of the Nazarene. A former owner of Alexander Moving and Storage, Mr. Flitcraft was very active with the Alliance Lions Club for over 25 years. He was a Past President and was the current secretary for 22 years. He was also a Past President of the Lions Eye Foundation and a former District Governor, serving in 1994-95. Survivors include his two sons, Donald W. (Mary) Flitcraft and Daniel T. (Debbie) Flitcraft, both of Alliance; a daughter, Dodie (Dwayne) Masters of Alliance; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; father-in-law, Charles Cowan of Alliance; two sisters, Harriett Sue Schmied of Beloit, Vallaise French of Beloit; two brothers, Walter Flitcraft of Largo, FL. and Lawrence Flitcraft of Beloit; a sister-in-law, Donna Heidkamp of Sandwich, ILL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Dolores C. (Dalrymple) Flitcraft on March 6, 1995 (whom he married on April 29, 1948); his parents, Chauncey R. and Vallaise (Heston) Flitcraft; a sister, Betty Fontaine; and two brothers, Chauncey Flitcraft and Clifford Flitcraft. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, October 31, 2002, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and also on Friday, November 1, 2002, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. (A Lions Club Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.) Funeral Services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Ketterman, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
