Donald T. Burke's Obituary
Donald T. Burke, 78, of Alliance, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 6:47 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. Born on August 25, 1935 in Providence, Rhode Island, he lived in New Jersey for most of his life, residing in Alliance for the past seven years. He was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served our country in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion in Sebring. He was currently self-employed at B&D Machine Co., which he had owned for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Madelin (Ahlborn) Burke, whom he married on June 14, 1958; his children, Michael (Rosemary) Burke of Alliance, and their children, Jack Miller, Mellisa (Matt) Miller & Jason (Theresa) Miller; Donna (Khattob) Tawab (both deceased) and their children, Tim (Bethany) Tawab, Nick Tawab & Chris Tawab all of Louisville; Lisa Burke of Alliance; Timothy (Debbie) Burke of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and their children, Brianne Burke & Ryan Burke; Shaun Burke of Montague, NJ. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Megan Miller, Jacob Miller, Ella Miller, Ava Miller; a brother, Richard (Ronne) Burke of Pompton Lake, NJ; and a niece, Kellie Burke and her son Tyler. Preceding him in death were his daughter and son-in-law, Donna (Khatob) Tawab; his parents, Jack and Catherine (Hyland) Burke; and a brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Lois) Burke. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Alliance on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. There are no calling hours.
