Donald Brown's Obituary
Donald M. Brown, 95, of Canton, and formerly of Alliance, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 7:35 pm at his home in Canton.
Born on December 17, 1923 in Alliance, to Walter F. and Clara (Burkey) Brown, he lived in Alliance most of his life.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Don was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
A veteran of WWII, he served our country in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper.
Donald was employed at Ford Motor Company as a machinist and retired after 35 years of service.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467 and the American Legion, Post 166.
Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie (Roger) Faubel of Alliance; two sons, William (Susan) Brown of Palm Harbor, FL and Larry (Beth) Brown of Alliance; ten grandchildren, Lynne, Bill, Jamie, Tiffany, Nick, Matthew, Mikki, Roger, Michael and Kelly; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Hadley Rose Morse; a sister, Betty Turk; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Catherine Rosalie (Vicars) Brown, whom he married on August 9, 1947 and who died on January 16, 2008, his parents; two sisters, Mary Lou Brown and Rose Bichsel; and seven brothers, Robert Brown, Richard Brown, Edward Brown, Lawrence Murphy, James Murphy, George Murphy and Samuel Murphy.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
