Donald P. "Don" Brady's Obituary
Donald P. "Don" Brady, 81, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2006, at 9:05 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital, surrounded by his family. Mr. Brady was born on July 15, 1925, and lived in Alliance all of his life. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. Don attended Marlboro Assembly of God Church. Mr. Brady worked for Cook Coffee Company for many years before starting his own companies, Don Brady & Sons and D & D Enterprise. He was known as the ice cream man and the popcorn man. A devoted father and grandfather, he leaves behind his wife, Beulah (Partlow) Brady, whom he married on November 30, 1946; three daughters, Lucinda K. (Dennis) Twaddle, Marie E. (Carl) Millard and Jean Ann Brady, all of Alliance; three sons, Donald H. (Jackie) Brady, Larry "Joe" Brady and Thomas P. (Sue) Brady, all of Alliance; fifteen grandchildren, Donald P. (Mary Jane) Brady, Jodie (Allen) Stratton; Tammy Brady, Jamie (Craig) O Dear, Dennis (Kelly) Twaddle, Jill (Jim) Dorsey, Carla (Kevin) Fletcher, Jason (Kim) Brady, Mark Twaddle, Heidi (Joe) Lewis, Joseph Brady, Heather (Rob) Young, Chad Brady, Abbie Millard, and Tara (Jesse) Satterfield; 17 great-grandchildren, Donald P. Brady III, Jackie Brady, Amber Brady, Zachary White, Marissa White, Brennan Stratton, Lauren O Dear, Alexa Dorsey, Nicolette Dorsey, Aden Dorsey, Kelli Fletcher, Andrew Brady, Austin Brady, Ashton Brady, Garrett Young, Grant Young and David Satterfield; one sister, Juanita Burson of Alliance; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Slash. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert A. and Marie Elizabeth (Knecht) Brady; two sisters, Rosalie Brady and Reinette J. Calabria; a brother, Derwood L. Brady; and granddaughter, Paula Kim Millard. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, November 16, 2006, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Holibaugh, Pastor of Marlboro Assembly of God, officiating. Interment, with Military Honors provided by the Stow Honor Guard, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
