Don N. Poirrier's Obituary
Don N. Poirrier, 68, of Deerfield, died on Thursday, January 17, 2008, at 6:55 a.m. at his home. He was born on January 26, 1939 in Palmetto, FL, and lived in Canton most of his life spending that last four years in Deerfield. Don retired from Royal Battery in Rivera Beach, FL, where he was employed as a retail manager. Mr. Poirrier loved fishing and telling jokes. He is survived by his wife, Jan (Sell) Poirrier whom he married on March 27, 1984; two daughters, Debbie (Glenn) Grosenbaugh of Louisville and Chris Shaffer of Massillon; three sons, Michael (Angie) Poirrier of Ravenna, Dennis (Pam) Poirrier of Louisville and Dustin (Tammy) Salvino of Newton Falls; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Jo (Richard) Riley of Canton, June (Gary) Jones of Alliance and Nancy Blind of Canton; one brother, Ray (Annette) Poirrier of Joelton, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Esther (Lee) Poirrier; one sister, Virginia Girton; and two brothers, Edward Poirrier and Joe Poirrier. Friends may call at the Deerfield Cemetery Chapel from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Memorial services will be held at the Deerfield Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Brown of the Louisville Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Deerfield Cemetery.
