Doletta L. (Skivolocke) Gallina's Obituary
Doletta L. (Skivolocke) Gallina, 95, of Alliance, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at McCrea Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 9, 1919 in Homeworth, Ohio to Louis T. and Mary (Valentine) Skivolocke and lived in Alliance for all of her life. A 1937 graduate of Alliance High School, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and of their Funtasticks Club. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Womens Guild and was the 1994 recipient of their Woman of the Year Award. Doletta retired from Alliance Manufacturing Co. after many years of service and was a member of the Alliance Manufacturing Retirees. She was also a member of American Legion, Post 166, Ladies Auxiliary and the Alpine Trentino Club. Doletta is survived by her daughter Pati (Gallina) Korleski and son-in-law Jim Korleski of Alliance, OH; five grandchildren, Tami (Byron) Allen of Cos Cob, CT, Ticia (Michael) Dillon of Columbus, OH, Jaimee (Jason) Montgomery of Westerville, OH, and James Korleski of Alliance; three great-grandchildren, Enrico Dillon, Kima Dillon, and Tyler Allen; a sister, Helen M. (Al) DeStephen of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest F. Gallina, on April 27, 2004 and whom she married on November 22, 1939; her granddaughter, Kimi Korleski; her parents, Louis T. and Mary (Valentine) Skivolocke; a sister, Doris Runion; and two brothers, Frank Skivolocke and Louis E. Skivolocke. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:00 am, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
