Dennis Simmons' Obituary
Dennis Simmons, 71, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, February 24, 2022.
Born on October 10, 1950 in Alliance, Ohio to Roy and Jacqueline (Stimpert) Simmons, he lived in Alliance for all of his life. He was a 1968 graduate of Alliance High School. Dennis was employed at DLH as an Estimator and retired after several years of service. He was a member of League of Women Voters, a current member of Pine Lake Christian Church and was a part of its Youth Ministry. Dennis was also previously active with the Alliance Church of Christ where he participated in many aspects of the church. He enjoyed Stock Car racing even working in the Pit Crew, and watching NASCAR races.
Survivors include his wife, Diana (Fox) Simmons of Alliance, whom he married on June 21, 1969; two sons, Dennis Simmons and Daniel Simmons both of Alliance; seven granddaughters, Cassidy Loy of Alliance, Jordan (Mac) Fokey of Canton, Haley Simmons of Canton, Brittany Masters of North Jackson, Megan Simmons of Alliance, Kiara Simmons of Alliance, Danette Simmons of Alliance; three grandsons, Kaden Loy of Alliance, Kyler Loy of Alliance, Caleb Simmons of California; great-grandson, Deacon Fokey; great-granddaughter, Damiyah Simmons; sister, Karen Page; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Danette R Loy; sister, Linda Fannin; father, Roy Simmons; mother, Jacqueline Simmons.
The family will receive friends on Monday February 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home in Alliance and the hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Harshman, officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
