Delaney Eva Marie Shaffer's Obituary
Delaney Eva Marie Shaffer, age 4, of Massillon Ohio, passed away on April 20th of 2026 after a tough battle with an unexpected illness.
Delaney was born on April 20th of 2022 to Jeremy and Megan Shaffer in St. Petersburg Florida at John Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Delaney was born with CDH and John Hopkin's had one of the best CDH unit's in the country. She recovered well from her time in the hospital after being born, and was brought back to Ohio in June of 2022.
Delaney was a strong willed, sweet, smart, funny, and sassy girl. She adored her family, loved to paint/color, laugh, play outside, swim, watch Dora & Bluey, eat snacks, decorate everything she could reach with stickers, dress up in princess dresses, and cuddle. If you asked Delaney what her favorite color was, she would always say green, but it was actually pink & purple. She LOVED to eat and her favorite foods were pizza rolls, pancakes, salt & vinegar chips, ice cream, cookies, and popsicles.
Delaney was a wonderful child, full of life and love. There was never a dull moment with her. She was a fighter from the moment she was born and she was a fighter until the very end. Her life was and will always be cherished by everyone who knew her.
Our lives will never be the same without our sweet Delaney girl, but we will forever cherish the four years with her that God blessed us with.
Delaney is survived by her loving dad & mom: Jeremy & Megan Shaffer; her grandparents: Scott & Christy Shaffer and Steve & Lisa Saunier.
Aunts and Uncles: Tim & Lydia (Tryphena) Saunier, Josh & Camryn (Freya) Shaffer and Matthew Shaffer; and many other family members and friends.
Her service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at Ravenna Assembly of God, 6401 OH-14 Ravenna, Oh 44266.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tiny Hero: Real Hope for CDH, an organization we feel strongly about since they did so much for Delaney before and after she was born with CDH and helped make it possible for us to get the absolute best care for her - https://www.tinyhero.org/donate .
