David Simmons' Obituary
David Franklin “Dave” Simmons, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home in Beloit.
Born on February 8, 1954 in Alliance to the late Noah and Ilora (Watson) Simmons, he lived in Beloit all of his life and was a 1972 graduate of West Branch High School.
Dave was a pillar of the community, managing several gas stations in Alliance, and was the former owner of Daves BP from 1980 through 2007, which provided him with the opportunity to serve his community and build lifetime friendships.
Dave had a passion for motor sports and was a contender for many years in dirt bike racing competitions.
He enjoyed spending his time bowling, golfing and working on his farm and cracking open a nice cold PBR with friends and family.
He leaves behind two step-sons, Nathan (Amy Sole) Grimes and Lewis "Lewie" (Kelly) Stansbury; two grandsons, David Grimes and Nathan Stansbury; and granddaughter, Novella Stansbury; and other family members and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with his friend, Pastor Paul Bozman of Reading Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
