David A. Scaia's Obituary
David A. Scaia, 83, of Alliance, died on Sunday, November 7, 2004, at 10:04 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Coraopolis, PA, on June 28, 1921, he lived in Alliance most of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr. Scaia was a U.S. Army veteran and had served during World War II with the military police in the Mediterranean area. David retired in 1983 after serving 37 years as a tool grinder at the former B & W Tubular Products Division. He is survived by his wife, Dolores I. (Zeni) Scaia (whom he married on July 6, 1946); four children, Mark (Susan) Scaia of Creve Coeur, MO, Denis (Debra) Scaia of North Canton, Michael (Krista) Scaia of Jacksonville, FL, and Joan Scaia of Nashville TN; five grandchildren, Alan, Andrea, Erin, Carolyn, and Allison; and two brothers, Marshall Scaia and Samuel Scaia, both of Alliance. David was preceded in death by his father, Enrico Scaia; his mother, Augusta (Castellan) Scaia Livery; and his step-father, Henry Livery. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday at 12 noon with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
