David Funk's Obituary
David H. Funk, 49, of Alliance, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 5:43 am at home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 9, 1964 in Alliance, Ohio he lived in Alliance for all of his life and was a graduate of Alliance High School. David was a salesman for Custom Poly Bag with 30 years of service. He enjoyed yard work and home improvements, golf, softball, playing video games, and his kitty, Pookie. He was also an avid Browns and Indians fan. David is survived by his wife, Tina M. (Polverine) Funk of the home, two daughters, Nicole R. Funk of Alliance, OH, and Katie L. Funk of Alliance, OH; his parents, Thomas and Linda (McGinnis) Funk of Alliance; a brother, Steven (Kelli) Funk of Damascus, OH; a sister, Lori Scott of Alliance, OH; father-in-law, Anthony Polverine of Alliance, OH; sister-in-law, Lori (Patrick) Heddleston of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Loretta J. (Tortora) Polverine, grandparents, Harold J. and Evelyn L. (Green) Funk; and grandparents, Charles E. and Mildred L. (Ward) McGinnis. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The Funeral Ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Jon Heddleston of Sperryville, VA, officiating. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
