David R. Fox's Obituary
David R. Fox, 67, of Alliance, died on Friday, March 27, 2009, at 9:09 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1941 in New Castle, PA. After attending their high school, he served our country in the U. S. Army from 1958 - 1961. Mr. Fox then moved to Alliance and was employed as a Machine Operator for Sandcap. He retired in 2006 after 37 years. A member of the Dante Club for many years, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In his past-time, he enjoyed fishing, yard work and tinkering" in the garage. He was fond of country music and had a big heart, always willing to help others. He is survived by his wife, Etta "Boots" (Mock) Fox, whom he married on March 11, 1988; sons, David (Rebecca) Fox of Aurora, CO, Timothy Fox of Alliance and Todd Fox of Sebring; step-daughters, Donna (Bill) Willard of Beloit, Sherrie (Greg) Bartlett of Alliance, Laura Bolog of Alliance, and Marian Leedy of Alliance; twenty grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith McClain of New Castle, PA; a brother, Nelson Fox of PA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Wilford and Mabel (Harper) Fox; a sister, Annabelle; a brother Norman Fox; and a step-daughter, Allison "Ally" Fox in 2004. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, March 30, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Joe Peters, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
