David John "Buckett" Beckett's Obituary
David John "Buckett" Beckett, 65, of Alliance, died on Monday, June 30, 2003 at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born in Alliance on April 7, 1938, he was a lifelong resident of our city. He proudly served our country during 1957 until 1961 with the U.S. Navy on the USS Cobbler. He retired in 2002 after 30 years of service with the Transue & Williams Stamping Co., where he was a machinist. Dave always enjoyed his time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed bowling and even gambling. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #362. He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Grabowski) Beckett to whom he married on August 17, 1979; four sons, John, Thomas, Eric and Bill; 9 grandchildren; and one brother, William Leroy Beckett, Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice A. (Verzak) Beckett. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
