Darlene K. Shellenberger's Obituary
Darlene K. (Hartshorne) Shellenberger, 62, of Alliance, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 5:40 a.m. at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 14, 1952 in Alliance, Ohio to Edmond and Iona (Kohl) Hartshorn and lived in Alliance for most of her life. A 1971 graduate of Alliance High School, Darlene was the former owner and operator of the West End Restaurant and Bar in Pennsylvania and the Sugar Shak Caf in Alliance. Darlene enjoyed floral and interior design, gardening, boating, camping and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Darlene is survived by her husband, Timothy J. Shellenberger, whom she married on January 7, 1978; her daughter, Darci (Stephen) Skidmore of Hudson; two grandsons, Cote Richard and Stephen Skidmore; a granddaughter, Sophia Skidmore; her mother, Iona Risley of Alliance; four sisters, Joyce (Terry) Vickers of Alliance, Diane (Tony) Kindler of North Canton, Melissa (Bill) Gergle of Minerva, and Cindy Hartshorn of Alliance; a brother, Edmond (Penny) Hartshorne of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Goshorne, Jr.; and her father, Edmond Hartshorne, Sr. There will be no services or calling hours held.
