Daniel Ray Fix's Obituary
Daniel Ray Fix, 59, formerly of Alliance, died on December 14, 2013, at Arcadia, Florida, following a long and courageous battle with diabetes. Born in Alliance on June 19, 1954, he lived in Alliance most of his life. Dan graduated from Alliance High School and Malone College, graduating with a Master s degree in Counseling. Dan had been a partner in the Alliance Drive-Thru with his mother, Martha "Jean" Blevins, and step-father Jim Blevins. Dan is survived by his best friend and longtime companion, Carol Landis; two brothers, Gary Fix of Santa Barbara, CA, Ronald Specht of Alliance; a sister, Susan M. Warner of Alliance; step-father, Jack Specht of Alliance; five nieces, Christine Zuhlsdorf of Ripon, England, Jessica Trusty of Alliance, Amanda Laughlin of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Katrina Kolesar of Canton, OH, Miranda Aeling of Alliance; two nephews, Brandon Myers of Seattle, WA, Preston Myers of Seattle, WA; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha "Jean" Shutler and Gerald M. Fix; and step-father, James Blevins. The family will receive friends at a memorial service to be held at the Vine Street United Methodist Church, 1544 W Vine St., on Friday May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
