Curtis Garlock's Obituary
Curtis Garlock, 57, of Salem, died on Friday, January 07, 2005, at 4:38 a.m. at Akron City Hospital. Born in Salem on November 9, 1947, he lived all of his life in the Alliance-Salem area. An Alliance High School graduate, Curtis received his accounting degree from Bliss College of Columbus. He was an accountant at the Minerva Dairy and had been employed at the former Deming Pumps of Salem. Curtis was a member of the Sevakeen Country Club of Salem, and enjoyed golfing, biking throughout the United States and Canada, and square dancing. He is survived by his wife, Cathryn A. (Leaver) Garlock (they were married on June 12, 1971); a daughter, Cristin A. Garlock of Salem; two brothers, Dale (Doris) Garlock of Alliance and Jerry (Elizabeth) Garlock of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Mabel (Sutcliff) Garlock. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Joseph Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Summit Renal Care, 73 Massillon Rd., Akron, OH, 44312.
