Clyde S. Combs' Obituary
Clyde S. Combs, 64, of Alliance, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on December 19, 1947 in Akron, OH, he lived in Alliance most of his life. He was a graduate of University of Mt. Union and Akron University. A veteran of Vietnam, he served our country in the U. S. Army with the 12 Calvary Division. He received 2 Purple Hearts. Mr. Combs was a member of D.A.V. and the V.F.W. He retired from Nationwide Insurance Co., where he was employed as a Claims Adjuster. In his past-time, he enjoyed high school wrestling, fast pitch softball, and Mt. Union football. Survivors include his wife, Jane (Gecina) Combs whom he married on December 18, 1974; daughter, Maggie Combs of Nashville, TN; son, Cody Combs of Altoona, PA; sisters, Maureen and Lynda; a brother, Paul; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde and Mary (Gamble) Combs. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
