Clarence D. Pittman's Obituary
Clarence D. Pittman, 85, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 5:40 pm at his home in Alliance.
Born on June 5, 1932 in Sprucepine, North Carolina to Joe and Eva (Penley) Pittman, he lived in Alliance since 1956.
Clarence was employed at H.M. Miller Construction as a Brick Layer and retired after 23 years of service. He was member of Local #880.
Clarence loved to be the "Bingo Taxi", picking up friends and traveling with his wife to several bingo locations. He also enjoyed being outside and building sheds, garages, decks and porches for himself and his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Zickefoose of Las Vegas, NV and Cynthia Leech of Alliance; his son, Gary David Pittman of Alliance; six grandchildren, Terry Lee (Samantha) Conley, Timmy (Tina) Conley, Amanda Pittman, Amber Pittman, Heather (Jake) Hunter and Tyler VanCamp; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Poteet of Bakersville, NC; a brother, Sam Pittman of Marion, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Earlene (Honeycutt) Pittman, whom he married on February 22, 1953 and she died on August 3, 2017; his parents; five sisters, Ella Stamey, Ruth Wiseman, Nell Swan, Belle Aspen and Jackie Pittman; and three brothers, Joe, Zadie and Kelly Pittman.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Freddie Rodriguez, Alliance Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
