Cheryl L. Hemphill's Obituary
Cheryl L. Hemphill, 48, of 11693 Lair Road NE., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2002, after fighting against cancer for more than a year. Born in Marlboro on September 1, 1953, she had lived in the Alliance area her entire life. A 1971 graduate of Mar1ington High School, Cheryl was a licensed Water Treatment Operator for the Alliance City Water Department and was also a Tax Consultant. Through her faith she was a very charitable person. She is survived by her husband, Lee Hemphill, whom she married on June 17, 1995; sons, Michael DeGroff of New York City, NY, Dustin DeGroff of Canton, and Jeffrey Hemphill of Columbus; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelleen and Carl Rubino of Navarre; a grandson, Kristopher Lewis; her mother and step-father, Ida and Rutherford (Doc) Diehl of Alliance; her father and step-mother, William and Pat Henry of Canton; a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine (Lanie) and Robert Lama of Alliance; a brother and sister-in- law, William (Billy) and Char Henry of Alliance; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the DeWald Chapel at Mt. Union College on Saturday, August 3, 2002, at 5:00 p.m The family will receive friends at the DeWald Chapel one hour prior to services, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
