Charles L. "Greg" Shumaker's Obituary
Charles Gregory “Greg” Shumaker, 78, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 10:45 pm at his home in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on October 22, 1946 in Middleport, Ohio to Charles H. and Marjorie J. (Warren) Shumaker, he lived in Alliance most of his life.
A graduate of Coventry High School, he served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Greg was an avid outdoorsman and had a true love for archery. In 1975, Greg & Stan Kiehl were in the Guiness Book of World Records for shooting the highest recorded score over a 24 hour period. He was also a National Champion in the PAA, shooting a perfect score. He enjoyed competing in any event involving marksmanship skills and was a member of Professional Archers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Janet L. (Warner) Shumaker, whom he married on October 23, 1975; his daughter, Jodi L. (David) Brown of Uniontown; two grandchildren, Emma and Owen Brown; and his two brothers, Charles Michael Shumaker and Charles Joseph Shumaker.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Private services will be held for his immediate family.
