Charles "C.J." Qualk's Obituary
Charles "C.J." Qualk, 89, of Alliance, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 3:11 a.m. at his home. He was born on June 9, 1924 in Akron, to Howard and Elizabeth (Wilson) Qualk and lived in Alliance for most of his life. Charles retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 43 years of service. A veteran of WWII, he served our country in the U.S. Army, receiving a Purple Heart while stationed in Italy. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036. Charles enjoyed farming, raising horses and especially loved spending time with his family and friends; he will be greatly missed by all. Charles is survived by his six children, Carolyn Derry of Atwater, Charlene Qualk of VA, Rebecca Crowe of Alliance, Diana Forehand of Alliance, Flint Qualk of Durant, OK; and Penny Geltz of Alliance; two brothers, Walter and Robert Qualk; three sisters, Jane Courtney, Dolores Schneeberger, and Alice Blazer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Daniel and Wayne Qualk. There will be no services or calling hours held. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
