Charles "Chuck" Lelesch's Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Lelesch, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at the Arbors of Canton, after two and a half years from a complicated stroke. Born in Connellsville, Pennsylnavia on October 10, 1919, he had been a resident of Alliance for most of his life. A 1940 graduate of Alliance High School, he attended the University of Kentucky. He worked at Transue Williams Drafting Dept. until 1943, when he left to serve his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in the Asia-Pacific Theater 653rd Eng. (Topographic Drafting). After his honorable discharge in 1946, he returned to Transue Williams until 1952. Being a job shopper, he worked at various places; McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis MO; Lockheed Aircraft Design Eng. in Burbank, Ca; Pacific Forge, Bakersfield, Ca; Goodyear Aerospace, Akron, Oh; and retired from Evergreen Air Center in Marana, AZ. He returned to Alliance from Tucson AZ, in 1996. Chuck was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman, and was a life member of the B.P.O Elks #467. Survived by three sisters, Mrs. Homer (Ida) Henderson, Mrs. Irene Panelley, both of Alliance, and Mrs. Harry (Elsie) Kessopulos of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles F. and Lousia M. (Byers) Lelesch; and four sisters. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, August 15, 2002, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. the hour of service. The Rev. Gordon Thomas, Pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. A private burial service will follow at Atwater Cemetery.
