Charles J. Hobbs' Obituary
Charles J. Hobbs, loving husband and father, age 71, of Alliance, passed away on December 4, 2013 at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on June 30, 1942 in Youngstown, OH, he lived in Alliance most of his life. He was a graduate of Mt. Union College and had been a teacher for the Alliance Public School System for 27 years. He had also been a freelance writer and a projectionist at various theaters. Mr. Hobbs was a member of Ohio Education Association, Emotions Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. In his past-time, he enjoyed fishing, wood carving, building model airplanes, but most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Linda (McMasters) Hobbs, whom he married on May 1, 2009; seven children, Carolyn (Scott Frazier) Minear of Canton, Christopher (Amy) Hobbs of Norfolk, VA, Cameron (Rayanne) Hobbs of Canton; Elizabeth (Kristin) Kessteetter of Uniontown, Stephanie (Randy) Moore of Canton, Sue Johnson of Canton, and Michelle Yarwood of Alliance; more than a score of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta (Russell) Jefferys of Alliance and Carolyn Hobbs of Uniontown, OH; a brother Eric (Sue) Hobbs of Oldsmar, FL; several nieces and nephews, and a host of numerous friends. Preceding him in death was his wife, Sandra Sue (Stockman) Hobbs on March 21, 2007, a daughter, Missy Lohmeyer, his father, Ray Hobbs; his mother, Arelda Mae Ewing-Hobbs-Six; and his step-father, Lester Six. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alliance Church of the Nazarene on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.
