Charles "Pat" Glasser, Sr.'s Obituary
Charles "Pat" Glasser, Sr., 83, of Beloit, died on Wednesday, August 28, 2002, at his home. Born in Alliance on June 24, 1919, he had lived all of his life in the Alliance area. Mr. Glasser was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a 1938 Graduate of Alliance High School and retired from Alliance Hardware in 1981 after many years of service. A Veteran of World War II, he served in the U. S. Army Air Corps in France, Germany and Belgium and had fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth J. (Otto) Glasser, to whom he married on February 17, 1943; daughter Jane Woodward of Fayetteville, GA; sons, Pat Glasser Jr. of Barberton, Jim Glasser of Leetonia, Tim Glasser of Alliance and Phil Glasser of Damascus; 16 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; sister, Agnes Post of Sterling Hts., MI; brother John Glasser of Beloit; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Catherine (McMahon) Glasser; a granddaughter; sisters, Ruth Allen and Helen Zell and brothers, Bill Glasser and Ed Glasser. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31, 2002, at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am - 12:00 noon.
