Charles L. Carte 's Obituary
Charles L. Carte, 82, of Minerva, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home.
Born on January 2, 1935 in Vanetta, West Virginia to Cecil and Madeline (Legg) Carte, he lived in Minerva for most of his life.
Charles attended Ansted High School in West Virginia and then served our country in the U.S. Army.
He was a truck driver for Ray Molder Trucking for over 20 years and retired in 1995. He was also a member of Local 92.
Charles loved growing tomatoes and “stirring the pot”.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia June (Chuck) Dean of Piedmont, SC; two sons, Farron Leo Carte of Alliance and Charles Andrew Carte of Minerva; ten grandchildren, Michael Dean, Jimmy Dean, Heather Carte, Morgan King, Andrea Carte, Matt Clapper, Ben Clapper, Shawn Hutchins, Sarah Hutchins and Scotty Haney; a great-grandson, Ayden Haney; three sisters, Faye Browning of Ansted, WV, Beverly Kidd of Ansted, WV and Sharon Vance of Elyria; three brothers, Dale Carte of Elyria, Moddie Carte of Alliance and Lavern Carte of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews; and Edward too.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruby J. Carte; and his parents.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Danny Legg officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
