Charles Andrie, Sr.'s Obituary
Charles P. Andrie, Sr., 80, of Alliance, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 1:05 pm at his home in Alliance.
Born on May 1, 1938 in Atwater, Ohio to James L. and Virginia A. (Flenniken) Andrie, he lived in the Stow and Alliance areas for most of his life.
A 1956 graduate of Alliance High School, Charles was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A veteran of our Armed Forces, he served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 166.
Charles was employed at Chrysler Corporation - Stamping Plant in Twinsburg as a tool maker for many years, and was a member of the UAW (United Auto Workers).
He was also a member of Ohio Fast Draw Association, and a lifetime member of the Akron Bicycle Club. He also volunteered with the Summit County Metro Parks Bike Patrol.
Charles enjoyed volunteering at church, and reading and watching westerns on television.
Survivors include his wife, Linda A. (Saunier) Andrie, whom he married on January 16, 1961; three children, Marie Andrie of Lexington Park, MD, Charles P. (Debbie) Andrie Jr. of Litchfield, OH, and Michael D. Andrie of Henryetta, OK; two granddaughters, Nicole Andrie of TX, and Anna Lowery of MD; great-granddaughter, Emily of TX; a sister, Linda L. (Bradley) Kincaid of Limaville, OH; a sister-in-law, Nancy K. Saunier of Alliance, OH; an aunt, Helen Wright of Malvern, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James L. and Virginia A. Andrie; and two brothers, Gerald L. Andrie, and James L. Andrie, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
