Cesira Variola's Obituary
Cesira Variola, 92, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at 7:35 p.m. at her residence. Born on February 1, 1917 in Pennsylvania, she moved to Italy at the age of 3. In 1955 she moved to Alliance with her husband and three children. Mrs. Variola was a member of both St. Joseph Catholic Church and Regina Coeli Catholic Church. She was also a member of the former Ladies of the Christopher Columbus Society. Cesira really enjoyed sewing and worked as a seamstress for James Dry Cleaners. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by a daughter, Vivian (Walter) Hardman of Leesburg, FL; two sons, Tiziano (Sheila) Variola and John (Jeanne) Variola; eight grandchildren, Lee (Madalina) Hardman, Adam and Gina Hardman, Vanessa (Mike Conner) Variola, Monica (Brian) Pierce, Giancarlo, Matthew and Michael Variola; two great-grandchildren, Devyn Conner and Lauryn Pierce; a sister, Josephine France of Parma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Luigi Variola on November 9, 1993, whom she married on June 19, 1948 in Italy; her parents, John and Argentina (Marcus) Benvenuti; two sisters, Rose Peloso and Dora Cappozzoli; and a brother, Joe Benvenuti. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert of Regina Coeli Catholic Church officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
