Cecilia Theresa Papay's Obituary
Cecilia Theresa Papay, 94, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 7:10 a.m., at Aultman Hospital. She was born on October 17, 1915 in Braddock, PA, and lived in Alliance since 1946. Mrs. Papay was a lifelong member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Active in her church, she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Mary s Widow s Club. She was a familiar face in the church s kitchen, working the funeral luncheons. Cecilia was the recipient of the Woman of the Year award, from the Catholic Women s Club, in 1988 for all of her hard work. Cecilia enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She is survived by a son, William A. Papay of the home; a daughter, Patricia L. (Michael) Ferlotti of Fuquay-Varina, NC; two grandchildren, Teresa A. Ferlotti and Anthony M. Ferlotti; a sister, Dorothy Zutich of Monroeville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, William A. Papay on June 7, 1971, whom she married on September 1, 1946; her parents, Mike and Zuzana (Kurimsky) Urda; four sisters, Gabriella Kapral, Helen Kissonick, Margie Kapral and Bernadette Chorba; and two brothers, Andrew Kapral and Clarence Kapral. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert, as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
