Catherine Helen (Thewes) Dunlap's Obituary
Catherine Helen (Thewes) Dunlap, 64, of Marlboro, died on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 4:30 p.m. at Aultman Hospital. She was born on December 22, 1945 in Harrisburg, and lived in the Alliance area all of her life. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, she was a life-long member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was also a member of the church s Bingo Lunch Committee and the Bereavement Committee. Catherine retired from the Hoover Company in 2000 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and loved being around her large family. Survivors include her husband, Wilbert "Gene" Dunlap whom she married on September 21, 1974; a daughter, Angela Kay (Mike Satink) Dunlap of Cleveland; nine sisters, Mary (Claus) Altmann of Louisville, Irene (Dick) Starr of Louisville, Peggy (Tom) Dowling of Louisville, Margie Thewes of Canton, Dorothy (Jack) Shanower of Canton, Edie (Cal) Shanower of Canton, Rosie (Bob) Thrower of Alliance, Betsy (Eric) Hanson of Massillon and Pattie (Louis) Sells of Uniontown; two brothers, Tony (Karol Chernek) Thewes of Kent and John (Lynn) Thewes of Alliance; three sisters-in-law, Alice Reichman of New Philadelphia, Arlene (Wayne) Fritter of Louisville and Elaine (Dave) Mace of Freeport; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Anna Marie) Dunlap of Freeport; an aunt, Margie Figley of Massillon; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Anthony B. and Mary E. (Roshong) Thewes; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Vera Dunlap; a brother, Raymond Thewes; two brothers-in-law, Mike Spehar and Dave Reichman; and a nephew, Carl Thewes. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg, on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Howard Ziemba, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery.
