Carolyn Mercer 's Obituary
Carolyn Irene (Hoover) Mercer, 75, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Canterbury Villa of Alliance.
Born on December 25, 1942 in Alliance, Ohio to Herbert and Irene (Gantz) Hoover, she lived in Alliance for all of her life.
She attended Alliance High School. Carolyn was a loving grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved Dalmation “Dutchess”.
Survivors include her husband, Morris Mercer whom she married on Nov. 24, 1965; two daughters, Fonda (Wally "JR") Armour of Alliance, and Mary Mercer of Alliance; two sons, Paul Sharpnack of Youngstown, and James Mercer of Alliance; six grandchildren, Wally B. Armour of Alliance, Alyssa Armour of Snowmass Village, CO, Abbey Armour of Minneapolis, MN, Zachary Sharpnack of Youngstown, Damian Sharpnack of Youngstown, and Kayla Mercer of Alliance; two sisters, Marlene Monroe of Alliance, and Audrey (Melvin) Leech of Alliance; a half-brother, Gerold (Angelivia) Hoover; a half-sister, Rosemary and (Richard) Wolfgang; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Herbert and Irene Hoover; two brothers, Richard Hoover, and Jacob Hoover; two sisters, Linda Hoover, and Kathlene Hoover; an infant brother, Kenneth Hoover; a half-sister, Joanne, and two half brothers, James Hoover and Duane Hoover.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 4:30 – 6:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 pm. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
