Carolyn M. Gladis' Obituary
Carolyn M. Gladis, 81, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 9:18 p.m. at Oakhill Manor in Louisville. She was born on July 25, 1926 in Passaic, NJ and lived in Alliance most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Women s Guild and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Carolyn loved taking care of her family and her home and in her free time, enjoyed shopping and being with people. She is survived by a daughter, Nora Noreen Penrod of Canton; two sons, Michael Gladis of Boliver, OH and Joseph (Carol) Gladis of Woodridge, NJ; two grandchildren, Jason (Jenifer) Gainor and Eddie Gladis; two great-grandchildren; several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph Gladis on May 2, 2003; a daughter, Joan Ann Gladis; and her parents, Bill and Greta Banker. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
