Carol Valentine 's Obituary
Carol Valentine of Alliance, OH was born on December 8, 1931. She was born Iona Carol Mack and she left this earth to be with our Lord in Heaven and rejoin those family members that have gone before her on July 1, 2015. She was the youngest of 5 children (Kathleen Woodward, Thelma Kovak, Charles Ray “Bud” Mack Jr. and Betty Orr) and the daughter of Charles Ray & Mary Mack all of whom preceded her to Heaven.
She was born and resided in Alliance, Ohio the majority of her life. Her last years spent in Louisville, Ohio with her loving husband, and overlooking the field & school of St. Thomas Aquinas where she spent countless days attending cross country, football, fundraisers and other sporting events of her three boys.
She was a graduate of Alliance High School and worked at Alliance Manufacturing until she met the love of her life and was married July 5, 1958. Her focus then became raising a family and was fully employed 24/7 for life by her three boys and husband. She helped over the years to support Regina Coeli & St Thomas Aquinas HS in numerous ways while being steadfast in the Catholic Faith. When the boys were older she worked part time at Manhattan Cleaners in Alliance as their primary customer service person. She was an active member in the Alliance Elks Ladies Auxiliary, Altar & Rosary Society of Regina Coeli, Mixed couples bowling league and loved all Ohio sports teams!
Her legacy on Earth is her husband of 57+ years Virgil and their three boys & families: Michael (Beth) Valentine of Hudson, OH, Bruce “Ray” Valentine of Ridgway, CO and Thomas (Debora) Valentine of Milton, GA. Her awesome grandchildren who will continue to carry on her spirit, memories and Euchre playing skills: Anthony of Denver, CO, Brittany Eismon of Hudson, OH, Abigail “Abbey” of Hudson, OH, Skyler of Ridgway, CO, Zachary “Zac” of Milton, GA & Vittorio “Victor” of Milton, GA; and her step-great grandchildren, Ava & Tommy Eismon of Hudson, OH.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 2, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. NOTE: The family requests you wear your favorite team jersey or apparel to visitation to celebrate Carol’s love of sports.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol Valentine’s name to your choice of the following: St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship Fund, 2121 Reno Dr. NE, Louisville, OH 44641; or to Seton Catholic School Scholarship Fund, 6923 Stow Rd, Hudson, OH 44236.
