Carmella Ann (Aquilo) Tzetzu's Obituary
Carmella Ann (Aquilo) Tzetzu ascended into Heaven on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 surrounded by the love of her family and friends at Altercare of Nobles Pond in Canton. Carmie fought a courageous battle against a six month illness and would have celebrated her 90th birthday on November 26th. The second oldest of nine children, Carmie was born in Alliance, Ohio to the late Anthony and Nicolina (Micketti) Aquilo. Although her formal education only took her through the 10th grade, Carmie was known for her hard work ethic and determination. She spent her early years in Alliance and later moved to Canton to be closer to her daughter and her family. She was stubborn, but her love for her family was never in question. Carmie was admired by many for her strength and courage that never wavered, even during her last moments on earth. As a child she was a marble champion and a softball pitcher but as an adult, she was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Carmie loved to read and tell stories of her childhood that will be passed down for generations to come. She was a long-time member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Alliance and more recently, a member of St. Paul s Catholic Church in North Canton. Her passing is a loss to many who knew and loved her. Mrs. Tzetzu is proceeded in death by her parents, Anthony and Nicolina Aquilo, husband, the late Victor M. Tzetzu, who passed in December of 1968, one sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Ugo Polinori, one brother and sister-in-law, Dante and Sylvia Aquilo, and two brothers-in-law, Charles Searfoss and Matthew Giordano. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Fred J. Haupt of Hartville, OH, three grandchildren, Erika L. Haupt of Upper Arlington, OH, Jason F. (Natalie) Haupt of Mogadore, OH, Lindsay (Erik) Johnson of Canton, OH, one great grandchild, William Frederick Haupt of Mogadore, OH, six siblings, Mary Searfoss of Alliance, OH, Raymond (Sharon) Aquilo of Elkton, FL, Joseph (Carolyn) Aquilo of Canton, OH, Norma (Steve) Zamagias of Alliance, OH, Gloria Giordano of Canton, OH, Linda (John) Canestraro of Minerva, OH., and several generations of nieces, nephews whom she loved very much. As she chose, a Memorial Service will take place at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Friday, November 18, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert, as celebrant. Internment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. On behalf of Carmella s family, we thank the staff of Altercare of Nobles Pond, especially Jan, Mary Ann, and Sharon who grew to love and care for Carmie like one of their own. You all will forever be considered part of our family.
