Bruce Everson's Obituary
Bruce Earl Everson Jr. 81, of Sandusky and formerly of Alliance, Ohio passed away after a 7-year battle with end stage renal disease, surrounded by his family on January 3, 2025, at The Commons of Providence in Sandusky.
He was born September 1, 1943, in Weymouth, MA. to the late Bruce Earl and Donna Jeanne (Miller) Everson Sr.
Bruce was a 1961 graduate of Alliance High School. Bruce was employed at Ford Motor Company for many years before his early retirement in 1988 when the Canton, Ohio plant closed. It was then that he and his wife purchased and ran Top Shelf Pizza on the Mt. Union Campus in Alliance, Ohio. He was a former member of St. Joseph Church of Alliance where he was very active, participating as a Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council member and “Christ Renews His Parish”. He was a past member of B.P. O. Elk, Lodge #467 the Alliance Trentino Club, and a former Hot Stove League coach.
Bruce cherished the lifelong memories of family, including many beach vacations with his wife, children and grandchildren. In addition to family vacations, he also enjoyed photography, woodworking, music, travelling around the country with his wife in their RV, and visiting 7 overseas countries.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary (Painelli) Everson, whom he met in high school and married on June 8, 1963; his daughters, Julie (Antony) Lalli Jr., and Jessica Everson; four grandchildren, Nick, Jake (Angie), Alexandra, and Marissa (Jay); six great-grandchildren, Jane, Joe, Timmy, Izzy, Natalie, and Jacob; his sisters, Sally (James) Waggoner and Mary Lynn Rarick; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Clay Everson; son-in-law, James Grimes and his in-laws, Gioachino and Anna Painelli.
At his request, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life service will be held.
