Boris L. Petroff 's Obituary
Boris L. Petroff, 88, of North Canton, Ohio, and formerly of the Uniontown and Point Marion, Pa. areas, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the Aultman Compassionate Care Hospice in Canton. Born May 9, 1928 and raised in Bobtown, Pa., he was a son of the late Louis and Mary (Franks) Petroff.
A 1947 graduate of Point Marion High School, he was retired from the West Penn Power System, where he was superintendent of the Lake Lynn Hydroelectric Power Dam. Since his retirement, he became quite an avid golfer, and belonged to several golf leagues in both Uniontown and Canton. Boris was a gentleman in every sense of the word, and was friendly and kind to everyone he met.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty J. (Demoucelle) Petroff on May 3, 2010, and by a sister, Louise Tash, and two brothers, Paul and Frank Petroff.
Boris is survived by his loving daughter, Deborah (Frank deceased) Wilfong, of North Canton; three granddaughters and their spouses, Kimberly Ann and Tod McCloskey of Concord, Ohio, Mary Beth Wilfong of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Megan and Mike Taylor of Honolulu, Hawaii; three great-granddaughters, Ella Rae, Amelia and Kate McCloskey; and a very special friend and companion, Lea Hessman of North Canton.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00 AM in St. Paul’s Catholic Church of North Canton, with Rev. Fr. Dan Finnerty officiating. Interment services will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa., on Saturday, June 4th, at 11:00 AM.
