Blanche L. Stanfield's Obituary
Blanche L. Stanfield, 91, of Alliance, died on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 3:20 p.m. at Oakhill Manor Care. She was born on September 22, 1916 in Alliance. Blanche resided in Baden, PA for most of her life before returning to Alliance 25 years ago. Mrs. Stanfield was a member of the Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, bingo and especially her grandchildren. Blanche is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Cartwright of Alliance, Lois (Donald) Welling of Baden, PA and Marilyn (Steve) Pettner of State Line, PA; one son, Carl H. Stanfield of Baden, PA; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Carl M. Stanfield in November 1989, whom she married on June 28, 1934; two daughters, Beverly Heltman and Gloria Stanfield; her parents, Anton and Ellen (Johnson) Nordquest; two sisters, Agnes Bauman and Helen Dorsey; and three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Harold Nordquest. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dean F. Lewis of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
