Billy Ray Newman's Obituary
Billy Ray Newman, 76, of Alliance died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Aultman Hospital. Billy Ray was born in Hamden, Ohio on March 23, 1932. Mr. Newman was a U.S Navy Veteran and served in the Mediterranean during the Korean War Era, he retired from Transue and Williams Steel Forging Co. as a shipping clerk. Mr. Newman is survived by a son, James Robert Newman of Alliance; a daughter, Shelley Rae Richardson; of Alliance, 5 grandchildren; James Patrick Newman, Angela Christine (Newman) Bailey, Jonathan Robert Newman, Daniel Ray Newman and Joseph Richardson, 2 great grandchildren, Alexander Griffiths and Abigail Bailey; a brother, Lawrence (Dorothy) Newman of Hamden; and 2 sisters, Betty Norton of Radcliffe, OH and Dorthy (Earl) Jenkins of Hamden. He was preceded in death by his his wife, Patricia Louise (Phillips) Newman, whom he married July 17, 1954 and died in April,1994; his parents, Henry and Ruth Opal (Sowards) Newman; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Marjorie Kiser. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. with funeral services begining at 1:00 p.m., with Dan Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
