Beulah I. "Boots" Chambers' Obituary
Beulah I. "Boots" Chambers, age 84, formerly of Canton and more recently residing in Westerville, OH passed away Friday morning at her summer home at Berlin Lake. Born in Birmingham, OH on June 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Willard F. and Gladys Hughes. She formerly owned and operated her own beauty salon during the 1940 s and was a retired employee of Peoples Merchants Trust Co., retiring in 1983 after 20 years of service. She formerly attended the Maryland Ave. Baptist Church and had been active for many years with the activities for Lincoln High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Chambers who passed away in 1981; also by a son, Gene Chambers in 2001; a sister, Betty Hackenbracht. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Karen Chambers of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Kirk Chambers, Kristen Smith, Carrie Chambers and Christine Snyder; four great-grandchildren, Alison Chambers, Parker Chambers, Ian Smith and Olivia Smith; three sisters, Lucille Booth of Coshocton, OH, Beatrice Glazer of Mayfield Heights, OH and Louise Crouse of Gnadenhutten, OH. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home, Canton Chapel, with Rev. Paul Gerycz officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon 3-5 p.m.
