Betty Jean O'Connor's Obituary
Betty Jean O'Connor, 71, of Alliance, passed away after a long battle with various health issues on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Born on September 1, 1944 in Alliance, to Elden D. and Mabel M. Scott, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
Betty enjoyed raising her four children with her husband and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, bowling, reading, and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas C. O’Connor, whom she married on March 22, 1967; a son, Richard E. Rich of Alliance; three daughters, Tamara R. (Daniel) Dicko of Homeworth, Jayne M. O’Connor of Alliance, and Donna J. O’Connor of Alliance; three grandsons, Thomas M. Hendershot, Timothy A. Hendershot and Richard A. Rich; three granddaughters, Samantha N. Goad, Amanda L. Coxwell and Mary J. Rich; two great-grandchildren, Robbie S. Goad and Zoey M. Goad; two brothers, Craig Guess and Larry Guess; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her father, Elden Scott; her mother, Mabel M. (Myers) Scott Guess; and her son, Bobby D. Rich.
Per her wishes, a private family service will be held at her home.
