Betty A Harlan 's Obituary
Betty A. (Bichsel) Harlan, 89, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 8:15 am at Altercare of Alliance.
Born on January 14, 1927 in Alliance, to Fred and Eva M. (Kramer) Bichsel, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
A 1945 graduate of Sebring High School, Betty was member of Alliance Friends Church.
Betty retired in 1996 from Alliance High School, where she was a Cafeteria Aid.
She sang with the Sweet Adelines and also in the church choir. Betty enjoyed sewing, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three sons, Thomas (Sandy) Harlan of Yorktown, VA, Timothy (Diane) Harlan of Alliance and Tyler (Deborah) Harlan of Alliance; six grandchildren, Fred, Samuel, Benjamin, Katelyn, Rachel and Ethan; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jayahna.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Thomas D. Harlan, whom she married on August 20, 1949 and died on February 8, 1989; her father, Fred Bichsel; her mother, Eva M. Bichsel-Ziegler; and a sister, Jackie Hartzell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Sams of the Alliance Friends Church officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
