Betty L. Dorsey's Obituary
Betty L. Dorsey, 82, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at 1:10 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Betty was born in Homeworth on September 28, 1923, and lived in the Alliance area all of her life. Mrs. Dorsey attended the Fellowship Baptist Church and had been self-employed as a private duty nurse. She is survived by three daughters, Judith E. Dorsey and Betty L. Porter, both of Alliance, and Janet M. Gindlesperger of Homeworth,; four sons, William R. Dorsey, Jr. of Kentucky, Kenneth R. Dorsey of Houston, TX, David A. Dorsey of Bethel, and Dale R. Dorsey of Homeworth; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Cecelia Eckert, Catherine Ruff, and Eleanor Blake, all of Alliance, and Carolyn Eckert of Nevada; two brothers, John McMahn of Ravenna and Frank McMahn of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Dorsey on May 28, 1978 (they were married on June 27, 1940); three daughters, Barbara A. Francis and infants, Bonnie and Sandra; two sons, Robert G. "Jerry" Dorsey and infant, Jackie; her parents, Ralph and Idella M. (Hartzell) Patterson; and a brother, Charles McMahn. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, February 19, 2006, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James White officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
